" ... A writer with a distinctive voice and an original worldview."
—Newsday
My novels and story collections cover a wide range of subjects and styles, ranging from the autobiographical to the mythic and much more.
My fiction and essays appear in such anthologies as How Does That Make You Feel: True Confessions From Both Sides Of The Therapy Couch; The Oxford Book of Jewish Stories; Common Boundary: An Anthology About Immigration And International Adoption; and, Desire: Women Write About Wanting.
I've taught all over the world at universities and conferences. As a Writing Coach and Writing Workshop Leader, I remind my students to "Read, Read, Read. Read across the globe, across genre, gender, class, age, race, and sexuality, etc."
I also say: "Listen to your voice. Listen to the voices of others. Balance your intuitive self with your analytical self. Never forget to cherish your unique creative path; it will lead you to the "beating heart" that resides within your writing (and yourself)."
